How to ensure the accuracy of linear guide

I believe that friends engaged in non-standard automation industry should be familiar with linear guide rail. At present, linear guide rail is widely used. As a kind of rolling guide, the linear guide rail is used to support and guide the moving parts to do reciprocating linear motion in a given direction.

The ball screw is commonly used in general automation equipment, which can greatly improve the accuracy and mechanical performance of the equipment with the linear guide rail as the guide. As a high-precision motion module, the installation accuracy of linear guide must be guaranteed. In this model, two sets of locating pins (one on each side) are used to ensure the accuracy of the guide rail, and the slide block is used as the installation progress through the plate milling groove. But how to guarantee?

When two linear guide sliders are used in pairs, they are generally divided into reference rail and driven rail. The fixed platform should have two guide rail installation datum, while the mobile platform needs a positioning surface of side datum. In the figure, the slider on the driven side only needs to ensure the accuracy of the contact surface of the platform. During installation, the guide rail and slide block are marked with reference plane, and the reference plane of the guide rail and slide block and the reference on the platform need to be close.

When designing, we should also consider the tolerance between the datum of two guide rails. Since the two guide rails move in a straight line, the parallelism between the two benchmarks should be guaranteed, and the smoothness of the straight line movement should not be affected. On the other hand, it is necessary to pay attention to the height of the datum and the size of the chamfer (if it is the step surface). If the chamfer is too large, it will affect the accuracy of the guide rail, and if the height is too high, it will interfere with the slider.
