Linear guide rail can be divided into roller linear guide rail, cylindrical linear guide rail and ball linear guide rail, which are used to support and guide the moving parts to and fro in a given direction. According to the nature of friction, linear motion guideway can be divided into sliding friction guideway, rolling friction guideway, elastic friction guideway, fluid friction guideway, etc.


1. Definition:

Linear guide rail, also known as line rail, slide rail, linear guide rail, linear slide rail, is used in the situation of linear reciprocating motion, and can bear certain torque, and can achieve high-precision linear motion under high load. It is called linear guideway in mainland China, linear guideway in Taiwan.


2. Classification:

It is divided into square ball linear guide, double axis roller linear guide, single axis linear guide.


3. Function:

The function of linear guideway is to support and guide the moving parts, and make reciprocating linear motion in the given direction. According to the nature of friction, linear motion guideway can be divided into sliding friction guideway, rolling friction guideway, elastic friction guideway, fluid friction guideway, etc.

Linear bearings are mainly used in automatic machinery, such as machine tools imported from Germany, bending machines, laser welding machines, etc., of course, linear bearings and linear shafts are matched. The linear guide rail is mainly used in the mechanical structure with high precision requirements. The moving element and the fixed element of the linear guide rail do not use the intermediate medium, but use the rolling steel ball.


4. Application fields:

① Linear guideway is mainly used in automatic machinery, such as machine tools imported from Germany, bending machine, laser welding machine, etc., of course, linear guideway and linear axis are matched.

② The linear guide is mainly used in the mechanical structure with high precision requirements. The moving element and the fixed element of the linear guide do not use the intermediate medium, but use the rolling steel ball. Because the rolling steel ball is suitable for high-speed movement, small friction coefficient and high sensitivity, it can meet the working requirements of moving parts, such as tool holder, carriage, etc. If the force acting on the steel ball is too large, the steel ball is subjected to the preload for too long, resulting in the increase of the resistance of the support movement.
