Common problems and solutions of using linear module

Linear module is widely used in various industries, which has brought great breakthroughs and changes to production efficiency. Many people are exploring this road to understand linear module, but they may lack the understanding of it. For the first time users, they may not know how to use linear module. What problems should they pay attention to when using linear module for the first time? What kind of tests should be done? Let's talk about the possible problems in the first use today. The problems that may occur during the first use can be divided into the following situations:

A. Check whether the wiring is wrong (whether the wiring is loose and unstable)

B. Check whether the driver dial switch is set incorrectly (whether the current setting and control mode are wrong)

C. Check for incorrect or improper behavior on controls (control mode / program acceleration / deceleration time)

D. Judge whether the speed and load in use are within the range of our products


Other possible problems, causes and solutions:

Q1. The motor is very hot

Possible cause: the current setting of the driver exceeds the rated current of the motor.

terms of settlement:

1. Adjust the driver current to make it equal to the motor current.

2. The external temperature of stepping motor is completely normal at 80-90 ℃.


Q2. The power on motor makes abnormal noise, but the screw rod does not rotate

Possible causes:

1. Driver does not match motor

2. Insufficient motor torque

3. The acceleration and deceleration time is not set for the control of start and stop

4. The coupling may be loose or the motor shaft and screw rod may be eccentric

terms of settlement:

1. Replace the appropriate motor and driver and set the current meeting the rated power of the motor

2. Set acceleration and deceleration time on the control (about 0.35s)

3. Adjust the coaxiality of motor and screw rod and tighten the coupling


Q3. The screw rod is stuck, sometimes in good condition and sometimes in bad condition

Possible causes:

1. Insufficient motor torque

2. The acceleration and deceleration time is not set for the control of start and stop

3. The coupling may be loose or the motor shaft and screw rod may be eccentric

4. Lack of lubrication between screw rod and nut

terms of settlement:

1. Set acceleration and deceleration time on the control

2. Adjust the coaxiality of motor and screw rod and tighten the coupling

3. Add lubrication


Q4. The motor torque is not enough, sometimes the screw rod does not rotate

Possible causes:

1. Insufficient motor power

2. Driver does not match motor

terms of settlement:

1. Adjust the driver current to make it equal to the motor current.

2. Replace the appropriate driver


Q5. Shaking always occurs during operation

Possible causes:

1. Low subdivision is used for low-speed operation

2. The scheme can not meet the use requirements of customers (such as adding large T-type load or cantilever load to 40 module)

terms of settlement:

1. Improve drive subdivision at low speed

2. Replace more suitable and stable scheme


Q6. Why are steps lost back and forth

Possible causes:

1. Common open-loop stepping motor will lose step

2. The acceleration and deceleration time is not set for the control of start and stop

1. Reduce fine points

2. Replace the motor with closed-loop servo motor

3. Set acceleration and deceleration time on the control (about 0.35s)
